David Edgar shares if Rangers will make deadline-busting transfer before 11pm

Rangers are not expected to make any further additions to their squad before the 11pm deadline on 3 February, according to David Edgar.

The Gers have added a new defender in Rafael Fernandes to their ranks but aside from that, it’s been a fairly quiet window.

Taking to X after being asked whether the Gers were signing anyone (3 February), Edgar shared what he knows about the Ibrox outfit’s business up until 11pm.

“Unless something unexpected happens, no,” he wrote.

Rangers and Philippe Clement are playing a dangerous game

While the Gers’ chances in the Scottish Premiership have already been written off, they’ve still got the Europa League and Scottish Cup to think about.

The gap between the Govan club and league leaders Celtic is too much for them to hack away at now so their full attention needs to be turned towards the cup competitions.

While it’s all well and good that Fernandes was brought in, it feels like the Gers could have done with one or two more additions to bolster their chances of having a strong end to the season.

Indeed, they did manage to sign Lyall Cameron on a pre-contract deal but seen as though that move won’t go through until the summer, it feels like Philippe Clement has left his team a little light, especially if Zak Lovelace exits as well.

Of course, things can change in an instant in football but barring any surprises, it seems that fans will have to deal with the talent they have among their ranks at the moment and hope they can pull something off.
