Besiktas launch last-ditch £3.3m bid for Ridvan Yilmaz, Rangers respond
Besiktas have made a last-ditch effort to sign Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz on transfer deadline day, according to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
The Sports Digitale journalist reported via his X account late on Monday (3 February) that the Turkish giants have offered a loan-to-buy deal for the 23-year-old left-back.
Bestikas are understood have offered a loan fee of £830,000 for Yilmaz, who has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Rangers this season.
Sabuncuoglu has reported that on top of that, the Super Lig club have offered a mandatory purchase clause worth £2.5million, which makes the whole package around £3.3million.
However, the Turkish reporter claims that both Rangers and Yilmaz have rejected the offer. The Light Blues reportedly found the fees offered to be “insufficient”.
Rangers reject deadline day bid for Yilmaz
There’s no way that Rangers can be allowing Yilmaz to leave this late in the day on transfer deadline day,
Besiktas have more time to buy Yilmaz because the Turkish transfer window doesn’t close until 11 February, so there’s nothing to really stop them from trying to re-sign their former left-back over the next eight days.
However, there’s no way that Ibrox officials will be sanctioning Yilmaz’s exit when they’re unable to sign a replacement left-back.

While Jefte has taken over as the main man in the left full-back role at Ibrox since his arrival in the summer, Yilmaz is an important option to step in when needed.
Both of them can also play in more advanced roles, which is really handy for the Light Blues whenever they get any injuries.
Besiktas will have to wait until the summer now if they want him.
