Rangers finalise new arrival at Ibrox as ex-Tottenham man touches down
Sam Pooley has become to the newest member of the sports science department at Rangers, according to Four Lads Had A Dream.
The Ibrox bloggers, who have strong connections to the club, reported via their X account on Thursday (30 January) that the former Tottenham staff member has already been involved on the touchline for Philippe Clement in recent weeks.
It is understood that Rangers have now formalised his appointment to become the latest backroom addition for Clement.
Clement won’t be sacked by Rangers due to this
Clement has come under a lot of pressure this season.
To be fair to the Belgian, a lot of the turmoil at Ibrox has been caused by those above him in the chain of command. However, he’s also struggled at times to get a tune out of players who should be performing a lot better than they are.
Whether it’s down to the board, the manager, the coaches or the players, something at Ibrox isn’t quite right and needs to be addressed.
However, while all of those departments have their pitfalls, one thing the board could potentially be praised for is their willingness to stand by Clement.

Even though the season is pretty much spent – other than a possibility of winning the Scottish Cup and getting to the Europa League knock-outs – Rangers seem to want to continue backing the ex-Monaco boss.
Pooley isn’t the only backroom hire this month with Issame Charai also arriving as a new assistant for Clement.
If this isn’t a show of ‘we’re standing by you’, there’s not much else the board can do.
In other Rangers news, a development has emerged as an approach has been made to sign a new midfielder.
