Rabbi Matondo spotted near stadium of new club as Rangers exit twist emerges

Rangers attacker Rabbi Matondo has been spotted next to the stadium of Hannover, according to Bild.

The news outlet reported on 30 January, as they shared an image of the Welsh attacker in talks with Hannover’s sporting director Marcus Mann, that talks were ongoing over the 24-year-old’s exit.

All options, including a loan with and without an option or obligation to buy, are being discussed, as well as a permanent transfer.

Rabbi Matondo may have played his final game for Rangers

Matondo’s potential move to Hannover suggests he may have played his last game for Gers.

The Welsh attacker has struggled to establish himself at Ibrox since joining in 2022, with injuries and inconsistent performances hampering his progress.

His limited impact as evidenced by just eight appearances and three starts this season has not endeared him to the Rangers hierarchy.

Despite showing flashes of potential, his inability to maintain fitness and deliver consistently has made him a peripheral figure under Philippe Clement.

A move to Hannover, with discussions encompassing loans and permanent transfers, could be a fresh start for both Matondo and Gers.

For the attacker, it offers a chance to reignite his career in a new environment, while for the club it could free up wages and squad space to pursue more reliable options.

In other Rangers news, a development has emerged as an approach has been made to sign a new midfielder.
