Philippe Clement ‘to regret glaring error’ as Rangers XI confirmed v Union SG

Philippe Clement could regret giving Nedim Bajrami another chance to prove himself as Rangers prepare to face Union St Gilloise on Thursday.

The Belgian makes two changes from the side which beat Dundee United 3-1 last time out, with Ianis Hagi and Clinton Nsiala enforced changes due to not being in the Light Blues’ Europa League squad [Official X account].

Despite an impressive victory at Tannadice Park, Bajrami was a complete letdown during the clash, with many asking for him to be hooked early in the game, but managing to last 89 minutes.

The winger, who has just one goal and one assist in the Scottish Premiership this season, is in the starting lineup once again, and Clement could live to regret this glaring error in his team selection.

Rangers prepare for Europa League clash v Union SG

Rangers’ entire season could be riding on their Europa League clash against Union SG, with a victory at Ibrox potentially enough to earn an automatic spot in the round of 16.

Of course, other results would have to go in their favour after the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United last time out, but the Gers have been spectacular in Europe this season.

Many teams have been surprised by Clement’s players in Europa, given how far behind Celtic they are in the Scottish Premiership table, but a shock could be on the cards as Bajrami remains in the starting XI.

Supporters have been expecting a lot more from the Albanian since his summer move from Sassuolo, and if those doubts are to vanish, he must put on a show at Ibrox against the Belgian side.

Clement will want every chance of his team progressing to the round of 16 without having to enter the play-offs, but that looks rather unlikely at this point.
