Rangers early team news v Union SG: Clement ‘reveals training boost’
Phillips Clement has revealed that Rangers have been boosted by the return of “some” players ahead of their Europa League clash with Union Saint-Gilloise on Thursday.
Rangers host the Belgian outfit at Ibrox on 30 January and Clement spoke to the media on Wednesday, revealing unnamed players are back in training after recent injury concerns.

The Belgian said: “Some guys were back in training, and some doing individual work. I don’t want to give this info all away ahead of a decisive game.”

Rangers need a win against Saint-Gilloise
After the frustration of coming away without a point last time out at Old Trafford, Rangers have next to no chance of securing an automatic qualification spot in the Europa League, with a play-off spot likely.
As things stand, the Light Blues sit three points outside the top eight with a three-point and 11-place gap between them and the spots that would see them knocked out of the competition.
While the result on Thursday means little in terms of qualification, Rangers will be keen to get back to winning ways in the competition having failed to win either of their last two against the struggling Manchester United and Tottenham.

Going into the play-off round, momentum could be key and while they will be favourites heading into the game, they can’t afford to allow complacency to creep into their game.
If the Gers can secure a healthy home victory, it will set them up nicely for the remainder of the competition which in all likelihood, is one of their only two remaining chances of silverware this season.
