Philippe Clement ‘to have say’ on last-minute Rangers transfers
Philippe Clement will likely have a say on any late winter transfer window arrivals at Rangers, according to Derek Ferguson.
Rangers have so far brought in just one player this month, with Rafael Fernandes arriving on loan from Ligue 1 side Lille.
Plenty of others have been linked with a move to Ibrox, though, and player-turned-pundit Ferguson believes Clement will be giving his input to technical director Nils Koppen.
“Managers should always have some sort of say in transfers,” Ferguson exclusively told Ibrox News. “Koppen is the one who is overseeing recruitment and it’s the way of modern football.
“But the manager has to have some input. What we’re led to believe is that Koppen will bring players in, but there has to be some discussion with Clement – he’s the one who’s got to work with them day in and day out.“
Rangers to make another signings this winter?
Supporters will be desperate for the club to make at least one more signing, whether that be a loan deal or a permanent acquisition.
As we know, the mid-season transfer window is not the best time to do business. It also means a lot of deals are done late on because clubs wait until the last possible moment to send players out.
It is looking like a deal for Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron could be struck in the coming days but, while that is a smart transfer on the face of it, how much will it truly improve Rangers right now?

What Clement is desperate for is someone like Hamza Igamane, who comes in and completely tears things up. That, though, is easier said than done.
