Michael Stewart makes ‘fast-forward’ Hamza Igamane claim at Rangers

Michael Stewart believes that Hamza Igamane was “fast-forwarded” at Rangers having primarily been signed as a player for the future.

Rangers have struggled for much consistency this season but some has emerged in the form of Igamane who has been on fire for the Light Blues.

Igamane has been the shining light at Ibrox this campaign but Stewart believes the forward was forced to develop at a much quicker rate than perhaps expected when he signed.

Speaking on the Scottish Football Social Club [27 January], Stewart said: Igamane was one for the future.

“Who, has been fast-forwarded and shown that he is more than capable.”

Hamza Igmane has been the standout for Rangers

Whether Rangers intended his development to take longer or not, the form of the frontman has been nothing short of magnificent throughout the campaign and it begs a daunting question as to where the Gers would be without him.

Philippe Clement’s side have largely struggled to source regular goals in games when taking Igamane out of the equation, who has 10 league goal contributions so far.

Of course, with that form, comes interest from other clubs with his situation in Scotland one to keep an eye on as the deadline for transfers approaches.

His form showcases that players can offer huge contributions without much history in the league and in some cases, there isn’t a need to slowly drip-feed them game time.

Igamane will be paramount to any success obtained by Clement and Rangers and there will no doubt be fears as to whether he will remain at Ibrox past the 3 February deadline.
