Cyriel Dessers exit: ‘Agents talking’ to clubs, multi-million Rangers fee shared
Cyriel Dessers’ agents will be confidently pitching the striker to interested clubs on the back of his recent form for Rangers, according to Mark Guidi.
The Nigeria international netted in the Gers‘ 2-1 UEFA Europa League loss against Manchester United before scoring in a 3-1 win against Dundee United on Sunday (26 January), leaving the former Sunday Mail journalist impressed.
Guidi is of the view that Dessers’ price tag will have gone up by millions after those two goals, while his representatives will be using them to get him a move.
“In any arena, those two goals would put millions on his transfer fee, if anything, whatever interest there’s been in Dessers”, Guidi said on The Go Radio Football Show (27 January).
“If he does want to go, if he’s a bit frustrated, if Rangers want to reluctantly want to get him off their wage bill because of the financial situation, his agents are just saying to interested clubs that’s what you’re getting.
“That’s what he’s done in the past week.”
Cyriel Dessers to leave Rangers now?
Rangers have had a quiet winter transfer window in terms of incoming, with Rafael Fernandes from Lille their only signing so far.
However, a few players have left the Light Blues already, with Alex Lowry joining Wycombe Wanderers, and Kieran Dowell, Cole McKinnon and Robbie Fraser heading out on loan.

Selling Dessers would allow the Gers to raise some funds in transfer fees while also saving some money in wages.
It is evident that the Glasgow giants have set their sights on reducing the average age of their squad and offloading the 30-year-old will certainly aid their cause.

However, it remains to be seen if Philippe Clement’s side can find suitable buyers for the former Cremonese frontman before next Monday’s deadline.
