Rangers transfer news: Lawrence Shankland ‘to clear medical’
Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland should have no issues clearing a Rangers medical if needed despite his calf injury in January, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims if the Gers are comfortable with his fitness after he returned to action against Kilmarnock on 25 January, they can go ahead with a possible transfer if they want to.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to the Old Firm clubs with his contract at Hearts running out at the end of the season. [Scottish Sun, 28 December]
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “He has missed a few games with a calf issue but it does not seem to be anything serious.
“As long as Rangers are comfortable with his injury earlier this month, wouldn’t expect there to be any issues with his medical barring unforeseen results.
“He’s got experience of playing in the league so he is expected to adapt quite quickly.“
Rangers must wait until the summer with Lawrence Shankland
Hearts have known of the Gers’ interest in Shankland and would be unwilling to sell him on the cheap.
Also, his lack of goals this season makes him a risky acquisition as the Ibrox outfit need someone who can fire goals regularly.

They have grown tired of Cyriel Dessers’ inconsistency and Shankland has done little to prove he’s an upgrade.
In other Rangers news, a Gers first-team player has told his agents that he wants to seal a permanent exit from Ibrox.
