Nicola Katic transfer: Rangers bid update emerges
FC Zurich manager Ricard Moniz has shared that they have not yet recieved any offers for Nikola Katic amid the recent interest shown by Rangers.
The Gers have been in the market for defensive reinforcement since the winter window opened with former Ibrox man Katic among the names linked with a return to Glasgow.
It was previously reported that Philippe Clement and his men had already made an approach for the 28-year-old, however, that evidently has not yet turned into a bid.
“Nikola has started training again with the first team. His wish was an early transfer, but now the transfer window is not open for much longer,” Moniz said in quotes relayed by the Daily Record.
“There have been no offers. What happens if he cannot complete his desired transfer? I don’t know. It would be a difficult situation. But it is a matter between the player and the club’s board.”
Rangers need to start making moves in the winter transfer window
While Rangers may have already added a new defender to their ranks, it feels like a lot more could be done to ensure their competitiveness across the rest of the season.
At the moment, the Gers are still patching a team together due to the sheer amount of injuries they’ve sustained across the board.
Although not all that much has gone right at Ibrox this term, it feels like a lot more could be done to ensure they keep in contention for things such as the Europa League and the Scottish Cup.
The Scottish Premiership has already been written off with the gap between themselves and Celtic far too much ground for Clement and his men to make up.

However, if they can bring in some new faces and perhaps bolster their ranks somewhat, it could make things a little bit brighter in Glasgow.
Katic would be an impressive addition and at just 28 years old, he still likely has plenty of years left to play in his career.
In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement could look “weak” if he now drops Jack Butland for Liam Kelly.
