Hamza Igamane wows Miller in ‘Quite Remarkable’ Rangers moment v Dundee Utd
Rangers ace Hamza Igamane wowed Willie Miller after his flick over Dundee United midfielder Vicko Sevelj in their 3-1 Scottish Premiership victory.
The striker picked the ball up on the left-hand side of the pitch, made his way towards the edge of the ‘D’ and as Sevelj was coming in to tackle him, Igamane managed to flick the ball past him and allow Ianis Hagi to have a shot on goal.
Speaking live on BBC Radio Scotland (26 January), Miller and Alasdair Lamont shared their thoughts on the skill the Moroccan produced.
“What about that little flick from Igamane on the defender, some of his skills are quite remarkable,” Lamont said.
To which Miller replied: “Don’t ask me how he managed to do that because I haven’t a clue, but hey, it’s easy on the eye and it’s a magnificent piece of skill and it’s something that just wrong-foots defenders.”
Hamza Igamane has been the saving grace for Rangers this season
When all hope seemed lost at Rangers, Igamane was the man they looked towards to try and get their season back on track.
The Moroccan was introduced in their game against Lille and from that point onwards, he’s been Clement’s number one choice at striker.
He’s bagged 13 goals in all competitions thus far and is showing no signs of slowing down just yet.
While Cyriel Dessers has recently found his way back into the limelight thanks to the goals he’s scored but it’s still fairly obvious that Igamane is the Belgian’s go-to.
At the moment, it’s unclear how things are going to end up for Clement and his men in competitions such as the Europa League and the Scottish Cup.
However, if the 22-year-old can keep up with this level of form throughout the rest of the campaign, Rangers could be onto a winner.
This would come as a surprise to most fans and pundits alike, especially after the way they’ve performed domestically and away from home.
In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement could look “weak” if he now drops Jack Butland for Liam Kelly.
