Chris Sutton astounded by ‘Absolutely Incredible’ comment Rangers ace made
Chris Sutton has been left astounded after Nico Raskin’s comments that Rangers are more comfortable playing at home.
Speaking ahead of the Gers’ away clash at Dundee United, the midfielder spoke about the difference in his side’s home and away form this term noting that the Light Blues are more comfortable playing at Ibrox.
The 23-year-old also said his side were tired after their Europa League tie away at Manchester United on Thursday (23 January).
The comments from Raskin have left Sutton with a sour taste in his mouth as he said live on Sky Sports prior to Rangers’ 3-1 win at Tannadice (26 January): “Absolutely incredible comment, more safe at Ibrox.
“With respect to every other team in Scotland, Celtic and Rangers have superior players, bigger budgets, I do not get that mentality and it looks like there is a mentality issue with the contrast between the home and away records.
“Coming out and telling everyone you’re tired, that’s an absolute no-no.”
Rangers need to fix their mentality
There is a constant battle for supremacy in the Scottish Premiership between Rangers and Celtic but the Light Blues have been left in their rivals’ wake in a hugely disappointing domestic campaign.
With their arch-rivals running away with the league, there have been many questions over the campaign about whether the mentality at Ibrox this term is one of winners.
Based on Raskin’s comments, this may not be the case. It seems as those in the Light Blues squad this term are more content with where they are in the league rather than alarmed at how poorly they have performed at times.

While you certainly don’t want to see players coming out and throwing anyone under the bus, the Gers need to improve their away form as a matter of urgency rather than talking about the struggles they face away from Ibrox.
In the meantime, if comments like this continue to come from those at Rangers, there will no doubt be more concerns raised about their mentality this term.
