Nedim Bajrami makes Cyriel Dessers ‘not so easy’ Rangers admission at Ibrox
Nedim Bajrami is happy as Cyriel Dessers scored for Rangers against Manchester United in the Europa League.
The Albanian playmaker is delighted for his fellow teammate, who has struggled for game time recently and has been linked with a move away from Ibrox [Complete Sports, 24 January].
Dessers equalised for the Gers in the 88th minute at Old Trafford on Thursday (23 January), but the Red Devils won 2-1 after Bruno Fernandes’ stoppage-time goal.
Speaking on the Glaswegian outfit’s website (25 January), Bajrami said: “I think the last month for him [Dessers] wasn’t so easy, but he always worked. He tried to help the team on and off the pitch, so he deserved his goal, and everyone was happy for him.”
Cyriel Dessers Rangers transfer on hold until the end of the season?
The Nigerian striker proved his importance in the squad as he came on against Man United and almost helped the Light Blues snatch a point against the Premier League giants.
Dessers was also influential against Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup on 19 January, as the striker scored three goals in the 5-0 victory.
Hamza Igamane has rightfully cemented his place in the starting lineup after some impressively consistent displays over the last few weeks.
Rangers have arguably performed better since the Moroccan youngster’s inclusion in the team.

As a result, the former Cremonese striker will have to fight to regain his place in Philippe Clement’s plans at Ibrox.
It has evidently been difficult for the 30-year-old to get opportunities with Danilo also in the ranks, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Nigerian ace leave in the coming weeks for pastures new.
But the Light Blues still have a long season ahead of them, and they could undoubtedly do with someone of Dessers’ experience until the summer.
