Rangers news: Attempts stepped up as Cyriel Dessers edges close to exit

Cagliari are set to step up their attempts to sign Rangers striker Cyriel Dessiers, according to Complete Sports.

The Nigerian news outlet who also have a daily e-paper reported on 24 January that a return to Italy was on the cards for the 30-year-old striker.

Despite making 54 appearances last season, the Nigeria international has fallen down the pecking order at Ibrox.

Rangers must quickly get Cyriel Dessers out of the door at Ibrox

Gers will hope that his goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford will put him in the spotlight with regards to interested teams.

Apart from Cagliari, there are other teams also linked with a winter move for Dessers and it’s time they start making bids.

The Ibrox outfit are most likely to sign a new striker should he leave so it’s important that they also work behind the scenes to get in somebody.

Hopefully, there is someone Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement have both agreed upon so he can be signed without any late drama.

Fans have grown sick of Dessers despite his rather decent goal-scoring record as he’s proven to be extremely unreliable.
