Mark Goldbridge fumes at Man Utd ‘Disaster’ v Rangers

Mark Goldbridge was left fuming with Manchester United after they conceded against Rangers in the 88th minute in Thursday’s Europa League clash.

Although the Gers were 1-0 down after 52 minutes through a Jack Butland own goal, Cyriel Dessers got his side level minutes before the end of normal time at Old Trafford.

However, in the second minute of injury time, Bruno Fernandes scored to put his side back in front, giving the Red Devils all three points.

Watching the game on a live stream on The United Stand (23 January, 2:19:13), Goldbridge was left fuming with the Gers equaliser as he said: “I can’t speak, I can’t speak. How has that happened? I don’t even know what happened. How are we drawing this game?

“Long ball, oh it’s just pace isn’t it? Look Maguire’s been brilliant for us but oh it’s a mess, it’s a good finish. Maguire just gets stuck under the ball.

“There’s a shove in the back there ref. Tell you what if that’s a foul for them, it’s a foul on him. It’s not a foul. Incredible finish.”

“That’s painful that is. That hurts. This is a disaster.”

Rangers narrowly lose against Manchester United

After putting in a good performance, especially after conceding, the Gers will have been gutted to lose that game and it now leaves them with a task on their hands in the Europa League heading forward.

For Jack Butland, it was a moment of cruel misfortune that led to his side conceding their first and a moment he will no doubt be replaying in his head many times over the coming days.

Nevertheless, the Light Blues were not wrestled out of the game and the Dessers goal will have certainly given the travelling supporters a great moment of celebration.

It was an excellent goal from the Scottish Premiership side and a lovely finish from the 30-year-old, who will have been pleased to get another under his belt this term.

Philippe Clement’s side will just be disappointed about what unravelled in the following couple of minutes as they were so close to what would have been an excellent result.

In other Rangers news, this Light Blues ace is likely to quit Ibrox in the summer with an English club already lurking.
