UEFA set for Rangers reports after footage v Manchester United

UEFA will receive reports on travelling Rangers supporters ahead of the Europa League clash against Manchester United on Thursday, Keith Hackett has said.

Travelling fans have already gathered in their numbers in the city centre, with pyrotechnics being set off ahead of the all-British showdown on 23 January.

Hackett admitted that is a matter for the Police, but UEFA will become more involved in the matter as fans start to approach Old Trafford.

Speaking exlcusively to Ibrox News, the ex-FIFA referee shared what will happen as Rangers fans approach Old Trafford closer to kick-off.

“This is a matter for the Police,” Hackett said.

However when they get nearer to the stadium, the UEFA Match Delegate monitors and reports back to UEFA.”

UEFA report expected on Rangers fans

This is a massive game for Rangers.

Philippe Clement admits that his side will be going for all three points with Manchester United in complete disarray under new manager Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese national has suggested this week that his side are the worst in the history of the Old Trafford club, making Rangers season look cheerful.

Patrick Stewart, formerly of Manchester United, has backed Clement heavily since his arrival and progression in the Europa League through the top eight would help his decision massively.

Rangers could double their European revenue instantly if they achieve that, but avoiding defeat in Manchester will be needed to help that.

The Bears currently sit in eighth, one point and spot below the Red Devils and ahead of Tottenham and FCSB on goal difference.

The away support are behaving themselves right now, long may that continue.
