Rangers player ‘to quit Ibrox in summer’ as Leeds United lurk
Rangers ace Archie Stevens is likely to leave Ibrox in the summer after failing to agree a new contract, according to Rangers News.
The online publication reported [23 January] that 19-year-old has not travelled with the Gers squad to Old Trafford for the Europa League clash against Manchester United and could leave Glasgow on loan this month.
Stevens has previously attracted interest from the Premier League, but Championship leaders Leeds United are long-term admirers of the forward and could join Scottish Championship outfits in pursuing a deal.
Archie Stevens will leave Rangers
Rangers may continue to attempt to tie down Stevens to a new deal at Ibrox, but it appears his future lies away from Scotland.
Although he has only made one senior appearance for Rangers, coming in the 3-1 win against Queen of the South in the League Cup during the 2022/23 campaign, he is still widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the academy.
However, he has been on the Premier League radar for some time, with Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Brentford regularly monitoring his progress [FootballTransfers].
Stevens would never be given an opportunity against Manchester United with so much on the line in the Europa League.

Still, his snub is a clear indication of where his future lies at Ibrox, and it appears that it will only be a matter of time before he departs for pastures new.
The contract impasse has ultimately forced the Gers’ hand, and while there is no chance of earning a profit from the youngster, they can at least get his small wages off the books.
