Rabbi Matondo exit: Stumbling block emerges amid Rangers bonus update
Rabbi Matondo’s transfer from Rangers to Championship outfit Coventry is now “in doubt,” according to Alex Crook.
The talkSPORT journalist reported via his personal X account (23 January) that the two clubs were “unable” to agree on bonus payments.
This has led to the deal potentially falling through despite Philippe Clement’s clear desire to sell the Welshman.

Unless Rangers can find suitors for their deadwood players such as Matondo, there’s not a chance that the Ibrox outfit will be able to welcome new faces to Glasgow in order to bolster their ranks.
Since the winter transfer window opened it’s been made abundantly clear that without the sale of players, there was little to no chance of Clement bringing in more than one new face.
Which, when the fact that the Gers are 13 points adrift of first-placed Celtic is taken into account, is a major cause for concern.
Indeed, an awful lot of their problems this term have been due to the amount of defensive injuries they’ve suffered.
However, until Hamza Igamane figured out how to fire the ball into the back of the net, Rangers were being let down by their attacking line.
Only time will tell what the future holds but if this deal with Coventry falls through, Clement and Nils Koppen will have less than two weeks to find him a new home.
Which, in reality, isn’t all that much time, especially if they wish to source a replacement.
