The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from Govan but could be set to sign a new contract as his current deal expires at the end of the season.

The versatile midfielder looks set to become a free agent in the summer if the Light Blues can’t reach an agreement over a new deal [The Rangers Review, 18 January].

With that being said, it is interesting to see Philippe Clement’s side part ways with another midfielder, in the winter window, ahead of Hagi’s potential departure.

Regardless of speculation surrounding the ex-Genk man, Lowry has officially departed Ibrox and was clearly emotional after reflecting on his career in G51.

The youngster hadn’t made a first-team appearance for the Govan club since the 2022/23 season but it is clear that he left a positive impression on his teammates.

Now it will be interesting to see if the Romanian will follow the Scot out the door, although it is very unlikely to be in a move to Wycombe Wanderers.
