Clement to make ‘Dramatic’ change – Rangers updated predicted XI v Man United
Jack Butland could be in line to make his first Rangers appearance of 2025 as the Light Blues prepare to face Manchester United in the Europa League.
Rangers travel to Old Trafford on Thursday evening (23 January) to face the Red Devils and have received a huge boost ahead of the clash.
Butland, who has been out since the back end of 2024, is back in training for Rangers, with Gordon Duncan mooting his immediate return.
Speaking on Sky Sports News [22 January, 11:03am], Duncan said: “Jack Butland is back on the training ground and you wonder if he could make a dramatic return at Old Trafford.”
Jack Butland set for Rangers return v Manchester United
Philippe Clement could now make as many as six changes to his Gers side for their encounter at Old Trafford, with Butland potentially returning to the starting lineup.
Liam Kelly had stepped in for his absence but with the ex-England international seemingly available, a change may be made.
James Tavernier and Jefte are expected to start on opposite sides of the back four, with a central partnership of Robbin Propper and Clinton Nsiala making up the defence.
Mohamed Diomande will sit this one out through suspension, giving an opportunity for Nico Raskin to partner Connor Barron in midfield with, Nedim Bajrami occupying a slightly higher position.

Vaclav Cerny and Ridvan Yilmaz could play the wide roles for Clement, despite the latter’s preference of playing as a fullback.
Clement may be forced to rue the Europa League squad omission of Ianis Hagi in his squad given the creativity and width he has been able to prove in recent weeks.
Hamza Igamane will surely lead the line given the impressive form he has showcased this season.
