Tom Lawrence ‘has played final game under Clement’ amid new Rangers developments

Tom Lawrence has been a source of frustration ever since making the switch from Derby County to Rangers in the summer of 2022.

After nearly three seasons at Ibrox, the Welshman has only made 56 appearances across all competitions, having been plagued by injuries throughout his playing career.

Lawrence is somewhat of a journeyman, playing for the likes of Leicester City, Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Ipswich Town, but he has always turned up for the Gers when physically able to.

That is why, despite his inability to remain fit for long periods of time, he still has 18 goal contributions during his time in Glasgow, with five of those coming at the start of the current campaign.

However, multiple new developments at Ibrox could mean that the 31-year-old has played his final game under Philippe Clement, and maybe even his final game in Light Blue.

Tom Lawrence to end frustrating Rangers spell?

Besiktas are one of the players interested in the attacking midfielder, according to [IsciHaber], with new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making “great efforts” to secure his signature.

Having arrived at Ibrox on a free transfer, he could very much leave the club in the same manner, with the Turkish giants wanting to sign the experienced Welshman for nothing [Aksam Spor].

Lawrence’s possible exit before 3 February is not the only reason why he might have played his final game under Clement, with the current manager also being linked with an exit.

Ibrox News understands that while Clement is still to be approached by the Belgian FA, he is one of the names being considered after the national team parted ways with Domenico Tedesco.

It would be a cruel turn of events for the player to return to full fitness with another new manager at the helm, having already played under Giovanni van Bronckhorst shortly, Michael Beale and Steven Davis.

When he is fit and fighting, Lawrence has the ability to be the best player on the pitch, but because of injuries, his spell in Scotland could come to a very sorry end.
