Sheffield United in hunt to sign Rangers star as contract talks collapse
Sheffield United are interested in Rangers star Tom Lawrence, according to the Daily Mail.
The outlet reported on 18 January that the Blades are amongst a host of clubs that are monitoring the former Manchester United ace, who is out of contract in the summer.
The report claims that the Ibrox side have failed to agree new terms with the 31-year-old which has left the likes of Ipswich, Burnley and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas on alert.
The Norwegian managed Lawrence in his time with the Red Devils reserves between 2008 and 2011 and could swoop for the former Derby ace this month. [IsciHaber]
Lawrence set to leave Rangers
Given that the two sides have been unable to come to a deal, it seems like the veteran will leave Ibrox in the near future.
The only question that remains is will it be in January or the summer that he exits the Govan club?
It makes sense for the Gers to let Lawrence leave in the winter transfer window so that they can get a fee rather than allowing him to walk away for free.

His time at Ibrox has not worked out for either party, he has featured just eight times in the Scottish Premiership scoring three goals and assisting two but has not been available enough.
He has not featured in a matchday squad in the league since the 2-1 defeat against Aberdeen on 30 October.
The Bears have the likes of Vaclav Cerny and Ianis Hagi in his position so an exit would not harm Philippe Clement’s side.
In other Rangers news, Cyriel Dessers has given up at Ibrox after what he told reporters, according to Gary Keown.
