Rangers speculation dubbed ‘the transfer that shook Europe’ as news emerges

Rangers star Tom Lawrence could leave Ibrox in a move that has been dubbed as “the transfer that shook Europe” by Turkish outlet Super Haber.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on 18 January that the former Manchester United ace could be reunited with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Besiktas.

The report stated that the Welshman is attracting interest from the Turkish club who are managed by the Dane, who Lawrence worked with in his time with the Red Devils.

The 31-year-old is a free agent in the summer and could sign a pre-contract agreement to leave the Gers.

Rangers should not block Lawrence exit

The former Derby County man has featured in just eight Scottish Premiership matches for the Bears this season, scoring three goals and assisting two.

However, he has not featured in a matchday squad for a league match since the 2-1 loss to Aberdeen on 30 October.

His form and fitness since he moved to Ibrox has been questionable and it would not be a surprise if the Gers let him move on this month.

If Phillipe Clement’s side can get a fee for him and get his wages off the books and use it to reinvest in the playing squad, then it is a no brainer to allow the veteran to leave.

A potential departure would not harm the Light Blues as the likes of Vaclav Cerny and Ianis Hagi have impressed on the wings in recent weeks.

It makes sense for both parties to move on, the move has not worked and the Gers should cut their losses.

In other Rangers news, an immediate departure of Cyriel Dessers from Ibrox is ready to be accepted.
