Rangers transfers: Chris Jack issues Lyall Cameron and Rafael Fernandes updates
Rangers are working on Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron as well but Lille defender Rafael Fernandes could be signed before him, according to Chris Jack.
The Rangers Review journalist reported on 17 January that the deal to sign Cameron is in the pipeline and Dundee will require compensation should he leave the club at the end of his contract.
However, before his services are secured, Fernandes is understood to be the priority and talks are ongoing to sign the 22-year-old.
Rangers need an attacker as well in the January transfer window
While things appear to be advancing positively with regards to Fernandes, it’s important Gers sign an attacker as well.
Cameron is a quality midfielder and he’s expected to move to Ibrox once his contract runs out in the summer.
The need of the hour is to bring in an attacker, perhaps a striker if Cyriel Dessers does end up leaving.
Danilo has now suffered another injury setback and it remains to be seen how much time it takes for him to return to full fitness.
Hamza Igamane has proven his quality but he cannot play every minute of every game and it’s clear that a backup has to be signed.

Gers could also look to sign a quality number nine and move the Moroccan to the left wing as he has shown that he can thrive in that role as well.
In other Rangers news, a first-team player is likely to join an English club in the January transfer window.
