Ipswich ready to sign Rangers star in bargain transfer
Rangers ace Tom Lawrence is attracting interest from Ipswich Town in the winter transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The news outlet reports (18 January) that the Premier League outfit is considering signing the 31-year-old, whose contract expires in six months.
Other teams in the Championship have the Welsh attacker on their radar, as he’s available on a bargain free transfer.
Rangers should sanction Tom Lawrence transfer in winter window
Lawrence has become a bit-part player at the Light Blues with injuries this season, and it would be sensible for them to sell him before the 3 February deadline.
The Bears could avoid releasing the attacking midfielder if someone makes a move in the coming weeks to get his wages off their books.
In the current campaign, the 31-year-old has made 15 appearances in all competitions for the Glaswegian outfit but has not made the squad since picking up an injury in November.
Rangers have several attacking options at their disposal and will not be affected by the Wales international’s potential departure.
Vaclav Cerny has held the fort on the right wing for the Gers, while Ianis Hagi has thrived on the left since returning to the fold.

Danilo was the number 10 as the Light Blues beat Aberdeen 3-0 at home on Wednesday (15 January), with Nedim Bajrami also at Philippe Clement’s disposal.
It doesn’t look like Lawrence will have many opportunities with the team over the next few months, and it would be best for both parties if he left.
The Bears have already announced Rafael Fernandes’s signing and more sales could create funds to sanction a few more incomings.
Hopefully, a resolution can be found soon.
