Hamza Igamane transfer: ‘Rangers ready to sell’ with £10m offer

Rangers will not be able to resist offers for Hamza Igamane in the summer transfer window, Keith Jackson says.

The Daily Record journalist believes interest in the Moroccan striker will only skyrocket if he puts in another great performance at Old Trafford against Manchester United in the Europa League.

If the Gers received an offer of £10million in the summer, Jackson said they would be compelled to sell the 22-year-old for a hefty profit.

Speaking on Hotline Live (16 January), Jackson said: “I don’t think you’ll see Igamane in a Rangers shirt next season. He’s made such progress.

“And I think he’ll go down to Old Trafford… if he goes onto that platform against Manchester United and turns it on and looks like the player he’s looked like in the last few weeks, that’s when the interest will really start to skyrocket.

“They are going to get the kind of offers in the summer they’ll find impossible to resist. This is a guy we spent £1.5m on, if you can get a cheque of £10m after the 12 months, I’m afraid that’s the sort of business [that needs to be done].”

Hamza Igamane transfer game changer for Rangers

Igamane was relatively unknown when the Bears decided to take a punt on him from AS FAR in Morocco.

At the start of the season, Philippe Clement hardly relied on the 22-year-old as Cyriel Dessers continued to lead the attack at Ibrox.

After the Nigerian attacker’s inconsistent displays, the Belgian manager finally dropped him to the bench, leaving the door open for Igamane to showcase his talent.

Rangers fans haven’t been disappointed with what they’ve seen from the Moroccan centre-forward so far, with nine goals in his last 10 appearances in the Scottish Premiership.

The young star was once again on the scoresheet as the Glaswegian outfit beat Aberdeen 3-0 at Ibrox on Wednesday (15 January) to secure their place in second.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see top teams from around Europe come calling for the 22-year-old in the summer.

While it would arguably be tempting to cash in on Igamane in the coming months, he could be the key to bringing success back to the Bears next season.
