Clement to hand youth gem first start – Rangers predicted XI v Fraserburgh

Philippe Clement will possibly make seven changes to his Rangers starting lineup as they face Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup.

The Gers will host the Highland League outfit at Ibrox on Sunday (19 January), with Cyriel Dessers potentially leading the line.

Vaclav Cerny, Ianis Hagi and Danilo could also be rested after starting against Aberdeen in the 3-0 victory on Wednesday (15 January), with the likes of Kieran Dowell, Tom Lawrence and Nedim Bajrami coming into the team.

Fraserburgh present an opportunity for Clement to give several of his players some much-needed rest, and Nicolas Raskin could be one of them.

Bailey Rice is expected to have a bright future at the Light Blues and might be handed his first start to showcase his potential against Mark Cowie’s team.

James Tavernier to start in Rangers v Fraserburgh

Connor Barron has lost his influence at the Bears in recent weeks, but the Scottish midfielder could return to the starting eleven in place of Mohamed Diomande.

Another player the Bel manager could count on once again is James Tavernier, who returned from his injury against Aberdeen.

Jefte will also likely be dropped to the bench, with Ridvan Yilmaz finally playing in his preferred left-back position.

Robin Propper and Clinton Nsiala should be the centre-back pairing again, as Clement will want to take precautions with Leon Balogun after returning from a fitness issue.

Liam Kelly will also undoubtedly keep his place in between the sticks after replacing Jack Butland in the last few games.

The Ibrox faithful will expect the Bears to beat Fraserburgh despite the potential changes to the team.
