Rangers transfers: Another player now expected to leave with Rabbi Matondo

Leon King appears to be on his way out of Rangers along with Rabbi Matondo as Philippe Clement omitted the duo from the squad against Aberdeen.

Gers faced the Dons at Ibrox on 15 January and with Leon Balogun returning to the bench, the exit-linked King was not to be seen and Matondo, who has missed a large chunk of the campaign, was also not in the matchday squad.

It’s understood that the Ibrox outfit are open to allowing King to leave on loan this month. [Rangers News]

With Matondo already seeming set for a loan exit [Daily Record, 15 January], the 21-year-old defender is now likely to be following out of the door as well this month.

Rangers must look to sell Rabbi Matondo

Gers should consider selling Matondo due to his persistent injury issues and inconsistent performances.

Since joining Rangers, the Welshman has struggled with injuries, notably a recent hamstring setback that sidelined him for a significant part of the season.

His lack of availability has made it difficult for him to cement a regular spot in the first team,

This inconsistency and his apparent exclusion from matchday squads, as seen in the recent game against Aberdeen, indicate that he is not part of Clement’s long-term plans.

Furthermore, with the 24-year-old’s exit seeming imminent, it would be prudent for Gers to capitalise on any potential transfer fee rather than letting him leave on loan, ensuring they can reinvest in players who can offer more reliability and contribute consistently to the team’s ambitions
