Lyall Cameron transfer: Rangers contact update emerges at Ibrox
Rangers have not yet made contact for the transfer of Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron, according to the Courier.
The outlet reported via their website (13 January) that the Gers haven’t been in contact about a potential pre-contract agreement for the 22-year-old.
The report also adds that Scottish clubs often notify one another when pre-contract deals are being tabled, which further suggests that no moves have yet been made.
Lyall Cameron would be a wasted transfer for Rangers
Although teams can never have too much talent in their ranks, it feels like the addition of Cameron would be a wasted move, especially with the areas within their team that actually need strengthening.
At the moment, Rangers are in a severe defensive injury crisis with their only senior option in centre-back being Robin Propper.
While Clinton Nsiala has filled in the void left by the likes of John Souttar and Leon Balogun rather well, it’s evident that the Ibrox outfit needs reinforcement.
Several names have already been linked with a move to Glasgow such as Jonny Evans and Ryan Porteous but at the moment, nothing concrete has surfaced just yet.

Unless a defender or two are brought in quickly, it feels like Philippe Clement’s men could start to drop further down the table.
Of course, Cameron would be a cheap move for the Ibrox outfit due to his contract expiring at the end of the season but with the likes of Nico Raskin, Connor Barron and Mohammed Diomande within their ranks already, it would be yet another player they’d struggle to fit into their plans.
In other Rangers news, David Edgar was left aghast by the “horrible” blunder he saw in the Gers’ game against St Johnstone.
