Simon Jordan believes Philippe Clement is more of a "Rangers manager" than Michael Beale was during his time at Ibrox.

The Belgian has been under immense pressure from passionate supporters for some time now, with many unhappy with the performances on the pitch, especially in the Scottish Premiership.

While Beale's 72 per cent win-rate ranks high above Clement's 63 per cent, the 44-year-old was unable to keep his job at Ibrox any longer than 11 months, but the current manager remains.

Speaking live via talkSPORT [13 January, 11:43am], Jordan said: "I would suggest appointments like Michael Beale suggest a type of thinking. I don't think Beale is a Rangers manager.

Jim White asked: "What about Philippe Clement?"

Jordan replied: "I think he's more of a Rangers manager. I know that sits in a slightly controversial moment at this moment in time because they're not agreeing with him and the team isn't in great nick, but in Europe, they're doing well.

"They've just beaten Celtic 3-0 for the first time in his tenure and for a long period of time."

Rangers to keep Philippe Clement despite fan protests?

Supporters have made their feelings very well known about the current running of the club, from the players and manager right to the very top of the Ibrox boardroom.

The Union Bears staged a mass walkout during the 3-1 win over St Johnstone on Sunday 12 January, an action which was greeted by a rather mixed reaction from the crowd.

Patrick Stewart will just now be realising the total mess he inherited when taking on the role of CEO in November, with many pointing the finger at him to relieve the manager of his duties.

However, the reoccurring issues at Ibrox run so much deeper than the man in charge of the current squad, even though performances have been far below what should be expected from the Gers.

Changes definitely need to be made if the Light Blues are to progress as a club, and hopefully even catch up to Old Firm rivals Celtic in time, but does not come without its opinions.
