Philippe Clement sack mooted to be sealed for this week in new Rangers reveal
Tam McManus believes that Rangers could sack Philippe Clement if they do not beat Aberdeen on Wednesday.
Gers play host to the Dons at Ibrox on 15 January and despite all the pressure, the Belgian still remains in the job.
Currently, his side find themselves a colossal 15 points behind league leaders Celtic in the SPFL table.
McManus told PLZ Soccer at 10:28: “I think if Wednesday night comes and they don’t win the game you might see the axe fall. He’s just stuck to that game plan the whole season. We’re a work in progress. We’ve not got a lot of money.
“I don’t think managers get long-term projects now and particularly at Rangers so he needs to keep winning games.
“If he keeps winning games then he buys himself some time but I think he’s just one result away from the axe falling and that could be Wednesday night.”
Rangers should part ways with Philippe Clement regardless of the result
Having such a lacklustre away form and being 15 points behind Celtic in January would be enough for any manager to get the sack.
However, Clement keeps getting stays of execution and even though there has been a major boardroom change, the Belgian’s job remains safe.
Patrick Stewart has stated that results need to improve but he’s clearly noticed them not improving all season long.
It remains to be seen how the mood is at Ibrox during the game against Aberdeen and whether or not it is an improved performance from the hosts.
The problem all season has not been the home form but how the team’s fared on the road and currently, nobody knows based on what the board are making their decisions.

They need to have alternatives ready to arrive at Ibrox should they decide the time is right to sack the Belgian.
