BBC Sportscene features ‘Aggressive’ Rangers question on Philippe Clement
Neil McCann has responded to an “aggressive” question about the future of Rangers manager Philippe Clement.
The Gers boss is under intense pressure after a run of just two wins in their last six matches despite newly-appointed CEO Patrick Stewart reassuring him of his future at Ibrox.
Questions continue to be asked over Clement’s job security with Bears supporters beginning to turn before, during and after the 3-1 win over St Johnstone at Ibrox on 12 January.
BBC Sportscene host Jonathan Sutherland asked McCann if he thinks that the Belgian will still be in charge at the end of the season (12 January), to which he replied: “I wouldn’t speculate on that but if the consistency and that away form doesn’t pick up, then he won’t be, simple as that.
“The question is an aggressive one, Jonathan, and I’m not going to answer it as a yes or no, what I will say is, I think he is under enormous pressure and if he doesn’t get those results, Rangers will make the decision.”
Clement under pressure at Rangers
Although Stewart has reassured Clement that his job is secure at Ibrox, that could change quickly with another poor run of results.
The Gers need to improve their desperately poor away record, they have won just three matches on the road in the league this season, picking up a total of 13 points.
Their home record is much better with 10 wins and one draw so far, picking up a total of 31 points.

The 15-point gap to Celtic is unlikely to be bridged this season, so the Gers need to give the manager time to catch up with the league leaders in the long term.
However, pressure from supporters may prove to be too much if results do not improve immediately with some fans leaving during the victory at Ibrox on Sunday.
The Belgian needs to start picking up victories consistently, especially away from home, otherwise he could find himself out of a job shortly.
