Rangers made to look silly after what happened v St Johnstone at Ibrox
Rangers fans were divided early in the second half after some inside Ibrox staged a walkout against St Johnstone.
With a series of protests having been planned for the game after Patrick Stewart’s “cop-out” public backing of Philippe Clement, some walked out of the stadium in the 55th minute of a game that finished in a 3-1 win.
This happened to coincide with the visitors pulling a goal back to decrease the Gers’ three-goal lead, as outlined on the BBC live text (12 January, 16:17).
“Boos and howls of derision at Ibrox as some supporters stage a walkout, which was mooted pre-match but, unfortunately for the Rangers players, coincided with St Johnstone’s goal,” the recount of the incident relaid.
“It would seem those who are staying put are none too impressed and want all fans to get behind the team.”

Rangers supporters have their own views regarding how best to be noticed by the board at Ibrox, but unfortunately have been made to look daft by disagreeing with one another.
This feeling is escalated by the fact it looked in response to a St Johnstone goal even though that was purely coincidental.
Clement remains under severe pressure despite steering Gers to a momentous Old Firm victory over Celtic on 2 January – as this has been their only win in five heading into Sunday’s clash with the bottom side.
The Light Blues will be gaining confidence from returning to winning ways, but an expected routine victory against the basement boys of the Scottish Premiership will not be enough to satisfy large sections of the support.
Next time the fanbase are looking to stand up and be counted to the CEO and Ibrox hierarchy, it would look a better optic to all be singing from the same hymn sheet as clashes between some supporters could now ensue.
