David Edgar can’t believe ‘Horrible’ Rangers v St Johnstone blunder he saw

David Edgar was left shocked by the “horrible” St Johnstone blunder he saw in their Scottish Premiership clash against Rangers on Sunday.

Saints defender Jack Sanders attempted to clear a cross that came in from Vaclav Cerny but instead, it ended up in the path of Mohammed Diomande who nodded it home.

The Gers ended the game as 3-1 victors with their deficit to Celtic getting cut down to 15 points.

“3-0! Horrible blunder by the St Johnstone defender who tries to clear a Cerny cross which was going out of play, succeeds only in heading it perfectly for Dio who heads home,” Edgar wrote via his personal X account (12 January).

Rangers fans might not be happy with their victory over St Johnstone

Although you’d expect fans to be ecstatic after going 3-0 up inside the first 25 minutes of a game, with the scrutiny surrounding the future of Philippe Clement, fans could be annoyed that he’s now bought himself some more time.

Most fans have been calling for the head of the Belgian since the season kicked off due to the underperformance of Rangers during his time in charge.

However, just when things seem to be going bad enough for one of the Gers’ higher-ups to finally sanction his dismissal, the 50-year-old earns a victory against a lesser opponent, much like he did against the Saints on 12 January.

At the moment, it seems that the former Club Brugge boss is safe in his role but if Patrick Stewart and co. want to better their chances of doing well in the Europa League or even the Cup, it feels like something needs to change soon.
