Rangers v St Johnstone postponement latest after Met Office update
Rangers and St Johnstone’s clash on Sunday at Ibrox is likely to avoid postponement after the latest weather update from the Met Office.
As of Saturday morning [Met Office, 11 January], the forecast ahead of the SPFL clash in Glasgow shows a less than 5 per cent chance of precipitation and sunny weather in the build up to the game on 12 January.
While there have been sub-zero temperatures throughout the week up and down Scotland, with a number of postponements announced in the Championship, League One and League Two, the game on Sunday appears set to go ahead with no pitch inspection scheduled.
Philippe Clement needs Rangers to beat St Johnstone
Philippe Clement was handed a respite when his side beat Celtic, but games against Hibs and Dundee mean that he’s now back to square one.
He does not have the backing of the supporters who have grown sick and tired of his excuses and no real improvement in the style of play since he took over.
Results have also been abysmal and they already find themselves 15 points behind Celtic – which is a stackable offence in itself.
The club’s form away from home is a real worry and one thing Clement can brag about is how good his side are at Ibrox.
However, failure to win against St Johnstone on Sunday, would see the alarm bells ringing even louder, leaving the board with very little wiggle room.

It is baffling to many how he’s still in a job and not given his marching orders already, but that could happen if things go south on Sunday.
In other Rangers news, a brand-new sack update has emerged on Philippe Clement with a claim emerging on the club’s finances.
