Rangers defender James Tavernier injury update emerges
Rangers defender James Tavernier may not be ready to start games regularly until February, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while his setback does not seem too serious, the club will still be working on different things to ensure he can return to action with minimal re-injury risk.
There’s the expectation of him returning to training by the third week of January but it may take another week or two for him to be ready to start games.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “The injury doesn’t seem too serious as it’s only a few weeks according to the manager.
“The team will work on his strength, mobility and neuromuscular control along with ramping up his conditioning as he gets closer to a return.
“If the timeline holds true, I would expect him back in training by the third week of January and he could be ready to start games regularly by the start of February.“
Rangers need to find a long-term James Tavernier replacement
The process of easing Tavernier out began this season but with Neraysho Kasanwirjo’s injury and Dujon Sterling filling in for John Souttar at centre-back, before getting injured himself, the 33-year-old has played more games than expected.
However, it’s clear that Gers need to move on from him and find a long-term replacement at right-back.

It remains to be seen whether or not Nils Koppen is prioritising that position in the January transfer window.
In other Rangers news, a claim has emerged on Elon Musk now investing money into the Ibrox outfit.
