Clement sack: Rangers hierarchy to hold talks on Friday
Philippe Clement is set to have conversations with the Rangers hierarchy over his future at Ibrox, according to The Express.
The news outlet reported online (10 January) that the Belgian boss is set to have conversations with the Gers chiefs on Friday, with Clement saying he is in constant dialogue every day with the club.
After a 1-1 draw with Dundee on Thursday (9 January) with Dundee, Clement said he has “200 per cent” confidence that his position as manager is safe.
Philippe Clement on borrowed time at Rangers
The Light Blues have been miles off what you would expect from them this season and, given how long there has been speculation over Clement’s job, it’s somewhat surprising that he is still at the helm.
The Gers currently find themselves sitting 15 points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and with the inconsistency of the Belgian’s side there is no guarantee that they will reduce this gap significantly before the end of the campaign.

The 50-year-old has stated he is backed by the hierarchy at Ibrox but with their title challenge already all but over, this could come down to the financial implications of any decision to part ways rather than it being based on footballing merit.
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, comes out of the conversations with those above him but there is no question about the fact the Gers boss has to improve things significantly if he wants to retain the backing of the hierarchy.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are keen on signing a Golden Boot winner in the January transfer window.
