Billy Dodds tears into Rangers information he heard – ‘Horrendous’

Billy Dodds believes it’s “horrendous” that Rangers have only won three of their 11 away games in the Scottish Premiership this season.

The Gers are currently second in the table and find themselves 15 points adrift of first-placed Celtic.

To make matters worse, they only managed to leave Dundee with one point to their name on Thursday after drawing 1-1 with them in their Scottish Premiership clash.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound in quotes relayed by the BBC Sport website (9 January), Dodds shared his thoughts on the Gers’ title hopes now.

“It’s (winning three of 11 away games) horrendous for a club of Rangers’ stature,” he said. “You’re not putting in a challenge, never mind winning a title with that form.”

Rangers need to find a way to pip Celtic to the title next season

There’s no denying that the chances of Philippe Clement’s men coming away with the Scottish Premiership title this season are now next to none.

Even though they managed to triumph over the Bhoys in their most recent Old Firm derby, it feels like a lot more needs to come from the team before they can even claim they’re putting up a decent challenge for the title.

While they may still find themselves decently placed in the Europa League and still have the Scottish Cup, it is hard to imagine how there will be success if they continue to perform like this away from home.

Although Clement hasn’t yet been relieved of his duties, if the Gers’ form carries on like this over the next few weeks, it’s hard to see how Patrick Stewart and John Gilligan will be able to think up ways to justify keeping him at the helm.

Only time will tell what the future holds but at the moment, things aren’t looking all that bright at Ibrox.
