Alan Brazil baffled by Rangers in new Philippe Clement sack verdict – ‘Nightmare’
Alan Brazil has been left baffled by the “nightmare” that Rangers have found themselves in since beating Celtic 3-0 on 2 January.
Rangers have had a poor season so far and that was heightened by the fact they drew 1-1 with Dundee on Thursday.
Fans have called for Philippe Clement’s head since the start of the season and, at the moment, it feels like the Belgian is just buying time until the inevitable happens.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (10 January, 06:08am), Brazil shared his thoughts on the recent form of the Gers.
“I tell you who else would have got the sack had they not beat Celtic is Clement,” he said.
“He’d have been bonged, they drew away to Hibs, I looked at the result and thought it was bizarre, they beat Celtic and they beat Celtic well and then they’ve had a nightmare since, I don’t understand it”.
Philippe Clement is lucky to still have his Rangers job
At the moment, it feels like Clement is just buying his time and patching up the wounds his Rangers team have sustained this season.
The Gers have been in extremely poor form this term and it feels like a lot more should be coming from the players as well as the Belgian.
They’ve been in the shadow of their arch-rivals Celtic for far too long this term and now find themselves 15 points adrift of the top spot.

Of course, there have been times when Clement has proven his worth as the manager of the Ibrox outfit but those moments have come too far between one another to have much of an impact on the way the season pans out.
The title is now way out of the question for Rangers and while they still have a chance to make a good name for themselves in the Europa League, it feels like Patrick Stewart is going to have to make a decision on the future of the Belgian sooner rather than later.
In other Rangers news, the club are readying a move for a new January transfer set to cost them £1million.
