Rangers player ratings v Dundee: Ridvan Yilmaz flops, Clinton Nsiala shines

Rangers played out a 1-1 draw against Dundee at Dens Park on Thursday in the SPFL.

Oluwaseun Adewumi opened the scoring for the hosts and Vaclav Cerny levelled things up in the first half itself.

The second half saw a few chances fall to either side but neither could make the difference and Philippe Clement’s side could only get a point on 9 January.

Here are our player ratings for the game:

Liam Kelly – 4

His decision not to dive for the Dundee goal was baffling and his positioning was called into question on several occasions.

Ridvan Yilmaz – 2

Undoubtedly the worst player on the pitch as he made way too many errors at right-back and could not have been taken off any sooner.

Robin Propper – 4

Wore the captain’s armband but showed very little leadership in the backline for Gers.

Clinton Nsiala – 7

Put in an impressive defence performance and looked tidy in possession, much to the delight of the Gers fans.

Jefte – 3

Another poor display from the Gers full-back as he failed to make anything happen in the final third and was suspect defensively.

Connor Barron – 4

Was shaky in possession and offered very little apart from his work rate.

Mohamed Diomande – 6

Had a decent game and had a chance to make headlines with a brilliant goal but his strike late on unfortunately hit the woodwork.

Vaclav Cerny – 7

Scored in the first half and that offered some respite to the visitors. Even apart from that, was one of the few standout performers.

Nedim Bajrami – 4

Appeared to be hiding for most of the game rather than showing some authority and making things happen in the final third.

Ianis Hagi – 4

Was taken off at the break after failing to make much of a difference in the first half.

Hamza Igamane – 6

His nutmeg was pivotal as Cerny scored the equaliser in the first half and he kept trying to make things happen in the final third.

Substitutes

Rabbi Matondo – 3

Did nothing off the bench as he seldom made the right decisions in the second half.

Danilo – 4

Struggled to get involved in proceedings and kept getting bullied off the ball.

Ross McCausland – 5

Looked lively and was arguably the best substitute for Gers.

Oscar Cortes – N/A
