Philippe Clement sack: Rangers board question emerges immediately
Tam McManus has questioned if the Rangers board can afford not to sack Philippe Clement after the “abysmal” draw against Dundee on Thursday.
The Gers once again failed to win away from home in the Scottish Premiership, limping to a 1-1 draw at Dens Park on 9 January.
They remain 15 points behind their Glasgow rivals and pressure is heating up on the Belgian boss after yet another poor result away from Ibrox.
Immediately taking to X after the game, McManus wrote: “Can Rangers afford not to sack Clement?
“That might now be the question for the board. Absolutely abysmal performance again away from home.
“Dundee, excellent and well worth a point.”
Philippe Clement on borrowed time at Rangers
The situation at Ibrox has hit boiling point, again.
It feels like a matter of when rather than if the Belgian manager departs the club at this point as the pressure continues to mount.
The 3-0 victory over Celtic on 2 January was seen as a stay of execution until the end of the season but now feels like a brief moment of respite with the heat right back on after two embarrassing draws.

Clement has recorded the club’s worst away points tally at this stage of the campaign for 19 years, with just 12 points on the road, which is not good enough.
The Light Blues should have had enough to comfortably dispatch Dundee but they failed miserably on another disappointing night for Clement.
Surely Clement cannot hang on to his place in the Ibrox dugout for much longer if results continue as they are, with the exit door getting ever closer in Govan.
In other Rangers news, Jefte will be delighted as a £3.7m January transfer update emerges at the Gers.
