Kris Boyd fumes at disgraceful Rangers in instant reaction to Dundee draw

Kris Boyd tore into Philippe Clement immediately after Rangers dropped more points in the Scottish Premiership with a 1-1 draw against Dundee.

The Belgian selected Clinton Nsiala to start at the Scot Foam Stadium on Thursday (9 January) amid an injury crisis, which ultimately backfired as Oluwaseun Adewumi gave the hosts the lead after six minutes.

Vaclav Cerny salvaged a share of the spoils for the Gers, but Boyd lost his head live on Sky Sports Main Event [9 January, 9:55pm] as he berated Clement for blaming the downturn of form on the current injury crisis.

He said: “It’s not good enough away from home. They’ve been absolutely terrible.

“Clement can speak about injuries all he wants; Tommy Docherty has injuries as well. Sugarcoat it all you want – 13 points from 33 away from home is a disgrace for Rangers Football Club.”

Rangers drop points again in Scottish Premiership

Clement in or Clement out? This has been the decision being toyed around with at Rangers all season.

Chris Sutton shared before the draw against Dundee his belief that the Belgian will remain at Ibrox until the end of the season.

And while some fear this is true, the 15-point gap to Celtic at the top of the SPFL, which is an insurmountable feat for any manager to achieve at this stage, the supporters have had enough.

For far too long, Clement has forced the Gers to be stuck in an endless loop of hanging by a thread before pulling a seemingly momentous result out of his pocket at the final hour.

The 3-0 win against Celtic at Ibrox on 2 January, albeit it had no serious repercussions on the league table, was supposed to be a significant turning point for the Light Blues ahead of a more prosperous second half of the campaign.

However, a draw against Hibernian and now Dundee tells the supporters all they need to know about Clement – he is not and never will be the man to help Rangers challenge Celtic.
