SFA make Robin Propper announcement for Rangers game v Dundee
Rangers will have Robin Propper available to face Dundee after Sky Sports claimed he’d picked up a ban against Hibernian, the Daily Record said the Scottish Football Association has confirmed.
The Record reported on 8 January that having spoken to SFA disciplinary chiefs, they clarified that Propper would not join stand-in Gers captain Nico Raskin on the sidelines against Dundee on Thursday (9 January).
A Sky Sports graphic during the Bears’ 3-3 draw with Hibernian on 5 January implied that both Raskin and Propper would miss the clash at Dens Park after receiving their sixth yellow cards of the campaign.
While Raskin won’t feature against the Dees, Sunday’s draw at Easter Road being their 20th Premiership match of the season means the bookings threshold has now doubled to 12, sparing Propper of a ban.
Rangers receive Robin Propper boost ahead of Dundee clash
With Philippe Clement in desperate need of a victory at Dens Park on Thursday as he looks to address the Gers’ pitiful away form, he’ll need as many players available as possible in order to claim three points.
Missing Raskin in the engine room will be a huge blow – not least because Clement will have to pick yet another stand-in Light Blues captain – given the form he’s shown at the base of midfield recently.

Having Propper as an option at the back will also be a boost in the eyes of the Belgian, given how stretched his side are in central defence with the absences of John Souttar and Leon Balogun.
Propper – who has had a very mixed start to life at Ibrox – has lined up alongside utility man Dujon Sterling in recent matches, with youngster Leon King also making his long-awaited return at Easter Road.
Signing a centre-back this month is top priority as Clement looks to address his side’s defensive woes, but with Propper confirmed to be available at Dens Park, he’ll be hoping for an improved performance.
