Igamane getting ‘very serious’ after Rangers developments – L’Equipe journalist
Rangers forward Hamza Igamane was in the limelight again as the Gers were held to a 3-3 draw against Hibernian with L’Equipe’s Hanif Ben Berkane claiming his story is getting “very serious”.
Igamane left Chris Sutton mind blown after his opening goal against Hibs on 5 January and has been the man in the spotlight at Ibrox all season with a hat-trick scored on Sunday.
The Gers striker has been the focus of transfer interest from Everton in recent weeks (Graeme Bailey) with the story on his future now “very serious” as per an X post from L’Equipe journalist Berkane.
His post reads: “Hamza Igamane still a scorer with Rangers. Seven [Eight after securing his hat trick] goals in his last 11 matches. This story is starting to get very serious.”
Hamza Igamane is a crucial player for Rangers
While transfer interest in the Gers frontman is inevitable given the impressive form demonstrated by Igamane, Rangers cannot afford to let this “serious” story get any further.
Success this season is going to be hard to come by given their exit from the Scottish League Cup and the gap from Celtic in the league but silverware can still be achieved through the Scottish Cup or Europa League and Igamane will be paramount to that.
Attacking woes have somewhat haunted Philippe Clement’s side this campaign but the emergence of Igamane has massively reduced those concerns and if the club were to even consider a sale in January, it would showcase a complete lack of ambition.

His finishing ability matched with his positional awareness has seen him thrive in Scotland this season and the transfer interest is a testament to his level of performance this campaign.
The next few weeks will provide a sense of anxiety as Gers fans will be desperate to keep hold of their star man.
