Dessers finished at Rangers as announcement made ahead of Hibernian clash
Philippe Clement has made no changes to his Rangers starting lineup to face Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday, with Cyriel Dessers left on the bench.
The Belgian tactician has decided to trust the same set of 11 players who fired the Light Blues to a thumping 3-0 win against Celtic in the Old Firm derby.
Meanwhile, this game (5 January) comes too soon for Jack Butland, James Tavernier, John Souttar and Leon Balogun, with none of the players even making the bench.
Cyriel Dessers surely finished at Rangers now
There was a case to be made for Clement to drop Hamza Igamane after he failed to impress against Celtic, while all other attacking players shone.
However, the fact that the former Monaco has stuck with the Moroccan is a sign that he no longer favours Cyriel Dessers at all.
The Nigeria international started the season as Clement’s first-choice striker, but he failed to repay the trust.
It is worth noting that Dessers has started just one league game for Rangers since December.
With Clement refusing to start him even after a poor performance from Igamane, it would be best for the 30-year-old to seek a move away from Ibrox during this January transfer window.
Meanwhile, Liam Kelly remains in goal in Butland’s absence, with Robin Propper and Dujon Sterling playing ahead of him.
Ridvan Yilmaz keeps his place at right-back as Tavernier is still not fit. Jefte, meanwhile, occupies the spot on the opposite side.

Nico Raskin, who was the standout performer in the Old Firm win against Celtic, operates in the double pivot alongside Mohamed Diomande.
Ianis Hagi, Nedim Bajrami and Vaclav Cerny keep their places in the team, with Igamane leading the line.
In other Rangers news, a European club have identified this Light Blues star as an “important” signing in January.
