Marcus Rashford transfer: Rangers verdict given amid Ibrox suggestion

Rangers will not sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to Barry Ferguson.

The Gers legend believes there’s “absolutely no chance” that the England international will move to Ibrox this month.

One Light Blues fan suggested that Patrick Stewart should use his connection at Old Trafford and make an approach for the 27-year-old amid his uncertain future at Old Trafford [GiveMeSport, 1 January].

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (3 January), Ferguson said: “Absolutely no chance of that happening.”

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford a dream signing for Rangers

Rashford would undoubtedly be a dream signing for the Bears, considering the quality he possesses.

The Glaswegian outfit would pull off one of the biggest coups if they were able to convince the winger to make the switch to Ibrox.

While the Englishman has found life difficult at the Red Devils in recent months, the Gers are unlikely to be an appealing destination.

Rangers are undoubtedly a massive draw in Scotland, but the English Premier League eclipses most other leagues in the world.

If Rashford leaves Man United in the coming transfer windows, he will likely want to play at a similar level.

The Light Blues can be pleased with having the likes of Vaclav Cerny and Ianis Hagi in their ranks to provide quality on the wings.

The Czech forward is on loan at the Bears, and they should look into making his move permanent.

In recent weeks, the resurgence of Romanian playmaker Hagi has also been a boost for Clement.

Rashford might join the Glaswegian outfit at the tail end of his career, but right now, it looks impossible.

In other Rangers news, the first piece of business in January has been confirmed after a “terrific” deal.
