Rangers transfer twist emerges in Marko Soldo chase
Leon Belcar is a more affordable January transfer option for Rangers than Marko Soldo, according to the Scottish Sun.
The news outlet reported on 2 January that Belcar, a Croatian midfielder will cost the Ibrox outfit around £650k this winter.
This comes after Croatian outlet 24 Sata reported on 1 January that Gers were keen on signing Belcar while it’s understood that Soldo, the Trabzonspor midfielder, is valued at £2million. [Daily Mail, 19 December]
Rangers must prioritise Marko Soldo
Given the financial considerations and the potential impact on the team, Gers should prioritise securing Soldo over Belcar in the January transfer window.
The Trabzonspor midfielder represents a higher investment but also potentially brings a higher level of skill.
However, with budget constraints in mind, Gers should negotiate aggressively to bring Soldo’s price down to around £1million, which would make the deal more financially viable while still acquiring a player with significant upside.
If negotiations for the 21-year-old prove too costly or unsuccessful, then turning to Belcar, who is considerably cheaper at £650k, would be a sensible backup plan.
Belcar, though less expensive, still offers value as a young midfielder from Croatia, potentially fitting well into Philippe Clement’s squad without straining the club’s finances.

Big decisions are to be made in the coming days and hopefully, the club end the month in better shape.
In other Rangers news, the club are now looking to sign a Chelsea player in January with the club open to offers for him.
