Rangers set for SPFL wrath after controversy at Ibrox

Rangers are set to feel the wrath of the SPFL after a controversy during the win against Celtic at Ibrox on Thursday, according to the Daily Record.

The news outlet reported on 2 January that cops swarmed in to gather evidence as Hoops midfielder Arne Engels was struck with a coin.

Gers won the game 3-0 but their victory was marred by this controversy with the coin coming from the stands.

Rangers must ban the fan for life after the unacceptable moment against Celtic

The incident at Ibrox is not only disgusting but a stark reminder of the unacceptable behaviour that can mar the beautiful game.

Most Gers fans would be utterly appalled by such a shocking act, as it contradicts the spirit of sportsmanship and the pride of supporting their team.

This kind of behaviour is not representative of the vast majority of the Rangers’ support, who come to cheer for their team with passion and respect for the opposition.

The individual responsible for this act should face severe consequences, including a lifetime ban from Ibrox.

Such a ban would send a clear message that there is no place for such thuggery in football.

The swift action by the police to gather evidence is commendable and it’s crucial that the SPFL ensures this incident leads to real change, protecting players and preserving the integrity of the sport.
