Rangers ace Ianis Hagi slammed despite Celtic showing

Four Lads Had a Dream has slammed Ianis Hagi despite his goal for Rangers against Celtic on Thursday.

Stevie Clifford, who runs that account, believes that, even after the 3-0 win at Ibrox, the real issue is for the same kinds of performances against teams like St Mirren and Motherwell away.

Clifford wrote on X: “My issue with Hagi is never games like yesterday

“Harsh or not, my issue is until they become match winners away to St Mirren and Motherwell then they won’t be what we need, that’s why I am unconvinced. Rangers need to find a system & way to make that work

“Now I don’t want to be critical, yesterday was terrific & they deserve every bit of praise, but these games are not the issue.

“Games were teams come out and have a go at us aren’t the issue I don’t have an issue at all I literally say that, I’m merely saying that until they become consistent killers throughout our games then the issues remain I’m reluctant to say everything is wonderful & he’s the answer because we do this all the time then fall flat on our faces, that’s the truth.”

Ianis Hagi is not the problem at Rangers

The 26-year-old’s recent display underscores that he is not the primary issue at Gers.

His talent, as shown in high-intensity matches, indicates that if he is given a regular role within a well-structured and functioning system, both fans and the manager could witness a significant improvement in his contributions.

Hagi’s ability to thrive in big games shows a capacity for match-winning performances, which could extend to all fixtures with the right support and tactical setup.

The criticism from Clifford seems more focused on the team’s overall approach rather than Hagi’s individual capability.

A system that leverages his creativity and goal-scoring prowess could transform him into a consistent performer across all matches, thereby addressing some of the broader issues at Rangers.

Hopefully, he does not leave the club in January as there’s a case to be made for him being in the strongest eleven.

In other Rangers news, the club want to sign a midfielder valued at around £650k in the January transfer window.
